After a successful inaugural club race this week we’re back for another one! This is your chance to test out Zwift racing in a friendly environment. Perhaps even a good warm-up to the upcoming ZRL season.
When: Tuesday, January 7th, 2024 at 7PM
Route: Cobbled Climbs (3x laps, 27.8km; 403m elevation)
Who: Anyone with a Zwift account can join.
How to register: You can sign up online here, or through the WCC club on the Zwift Companion app if you have it (search for WaterlooCyclingClub). This will be a mass start Event so everyone will register as “E”.
Discord: We will be using the club Discord for race chat and banter throughout the races, so feel free to join that if you haven’t already. It’s really easy to do and a bit like using Teams or Slack. Here’s a link to the WCC server.
How does the race work? All registered riders will be placed in a starting pen You will only be able to see other racers in the event, so it will function essentially the same as an official Zwift race. At the finish, there will be a leaderboard with results. We should also be able to see the results in the companion app after the race.
New We’ll be testing out “self-identifying” your category (A

) by wearing the matching coloured in-game kit. It’s sort of a “soft” categorization system.
