Interest in a club 2026 Time Trial Finale

Good afternoon everyone,

I feel like there may be interest in a season Finale for our TT series. We did not organize a long course TT this year, but I think it would be a fitting year end race to put on. Even if you didn’t race any of the regular season TTs , you’re more than welcome to come out to the long course race.

I would like to put this on at our Newry-Brussels-Newry TT course. Parking for the event is at the public school in Newry.

If I get enough interest, I will make this an official event for the club on a separate post.

Who is interested in racing a 40km TT on Sunday August 30, 2026?

I am interested but I would have to be on the course by 9:30am at the latest because I work in the afternoon that day. Thanks Kevin!

Thanks Emily…I would have planned it to start at 9:00 am. Sharp! I doubt we’d have 30 riders, so you will definitely start before 9:30. I would start even earlier if people wouldn’t mind…for far less traffic…it would be worth it.

I’d be interested but am racing next weekend in wasaga beach doing my own. 40km TT but with a swim warmup and 10km run cooldown. LOL

Would love to!! As the person likely starting first, 9am would be perfect as it gives me a little bit of time to eat, drive, and warm up (it’s about 50 mins away for me). Thank you!

What day are you thinking, assuming Sunday?

If it’s Sunday I’ll be able to man the turnaround. :slight_smile:

@ChrisP yes, Sunday would be the best time in my opinion… less traffic likely at that time in the morning.

That would be great it you could man the turn and pick up the signs on the way back. It’s not a for sure thing though… we need enough interest to make it worth while.

Hopefully we know by Thursday or Friday at the latest. I’ll decide on time once we lock it in… but 8:30 or 9:00 would be the best in my opinion. To be decided.

Hi Kev,

We just heard back from the breeder and need to be in Orangeville to pick up our new pup in the morning on Sunday. Doesn’t look like I can make it. Let me know though if the date changes, Hope everyone has a great ride if it goes ahead!
