Hey, for anyone not doing P2A tomorrow we have having a unofficial road ride starting at RIM Park at 9:30am. We plan on doing 60km, route TBD, but ~30km/hr, if you are interested just let us know and we will look for you. If not, enjoy the nice weather, and good luck to everyone doing P2A!
Good morning Sean,
I am interested and will try to be at RIM park by 9:30. I’ll also do my best to hold your wheels…this will be my first group road ride in over 2 years, so I may have difficulty doing that speed…but will see how the knee holds out. Watch out for tall rider on a Look 765…black with yellow accents.
Sean and Colin, what a fantastic ride. Thank you for posting this on the forum… I would have missed a beautiful morning to ride it it weren’t for that post. We had a superb ride sharing the load as we rode into around Maryhill, out to Cambridge and back. It was an absolute pleasure riding with you both. I hope we get to ride together again soon.
Great ride, and a great day.
Just a warning to everyone, if Kevin says he’s not sure if he will be able to keep up, don’t believe him!
Thanks Sean… that gave me a good laugh… i really wasn’t sure how my knee would react to riding on the road. I’ve ridden a LOT of miles on the Velodrome this winter - but that’s a totally different animal. Smooth, no wind… no hills… but it does give you a good workout and I’m pretty happy with my leg strength. I’d say it’s 95%… if only my knee would take the stress of standing on the pedals… or putting in MASSIVE efforts in sprints. I shall just have to accept what I can do and work towards the goal of zero pain cycling (and climbing/descending stairs). See you on the roads again soon.
