G3 Saturday Road ride survey

Hey folks,

So I’m hoping for some decent weather on a Saturday morning soon then maybe I’ll lead a Saturday G3 ride (it has been a while!). Not sure if this Saturday will happen (looking a bit cool and I’m getting a bit soft) but if there is enough interest then possibly

Anyhow on with the survey:

I ready to ride when the temperature is:

  • I don’t care, I just want to ride on a Saturday ASAP
  • As long is it is above 10 degrees to start and not getting colder
  • I want to wait until it is actually warm (like 15 or above)

I want to ride about this distance at this point of the season:

  • Let’s go around 80 to 90 kms to start
  • I’d like to do the normal 90 to 100ish kms right from the get go
  • I want to go longer, like over 110kms (the Mark Weymouth option)

I’d like to go at this pace:

  • Bottom end of G3 pace ( 29 to 31). A real social coffee ride
  • Normal G3 pace (31 to 33). Maybe push it a bit on the hills
  • I want to push myself (33 to 35). Maybe i should be in G2?

Okay, some interesting takeaways from this. I’m a little surprised on the number of votes so maybe G3 Saturdays are less popular these days :person_shrugging: I’ll probably run something middleish distance and normal pace when we start to try and get more people out.

But not this Saturday, looking like 8 degrees at 9 am and only getting up to 12 with it being windy and potentially damp. Not super fun. I hope to start the weekend after then run it regardless (unless I’m on vacation which I am a lot this year  ). I’d like to get on a run and have it as a fixture

@Oliver_Smith . Posted a G3 ride for tomorrow for anyone interested but having trouble creating as an event in the calendar.
