UW Bike Fair Looking for WCC reps

Hey all!
I was contacted by Ted Jiang looking for WCC members to host a booth at the UW Bike Fair. Below is the information, please disregard the June deadline. If anyone wants to get something organized contact Ted at tedjiang0811@gmail.com

The Bike Fair will take place on Friday, July 11th from 11am to 2pm (rain date July 16th) at the Arts Quad on campus. We expect, from previous Bike Fairs (hosted by UW Sustainability Office), around 250 students and employees to attend. We would love if Waterloo Cycling Club could join us and host a booth to share the great work you are doing in the Region.

What we will provide:

  • Lunch
  • Parking reimbursement for those with accessibility needs

What you can bring:

  • Chairs and folding tables
  • Pop-up tent (recommended in case of rain)
  • Displays or banners
  • Flyers, promotional materials, or information for attendees
  • Small swag items to provide to people who stop by your booth

If you are interested in joining, we kindly ask you to let us know by Tuesday, June 24th and send back responses to the following questions:

  • Name of main contact
  • Main contact phone number
  • Main contact email

  • of people attending from your team

  • Image of your logo to use in promotional material
  • Do you/your team have any dietary restrictions?
  • Do you have any accessibility concerns we can help accommodate?
  • Anything else you’d like us to know?

We will share more detailed information on logistics closer to the event. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We would love to have you there!

Thank you Gwen! He reached out to me as well. We have taken part in the past and I am looking to see if any Board members are available for this year. If none are I will put a call out to the general membership to see if anyone is interested in representing the WCC at this event.

I’m having a pretty good summer. Not as much riding as I would like…Charlie and I just bought a house! I’m hoping to get fit enough to at least go on one WCC ride this year! Hope you’re having a great summer too, and thanks for getting back to me.
