The Minnesing MTB trail in Algonquin

Found this to be a challenging trail under the conditions on Oct 13. Lost traction in several mud traps, and on steep hills where the trail was basically a pile of boulders. Was hard enough work to be comfortable in a T-shirt at 10 degrees. All worth it though, to be riding in such a great natural setting.

The leaves had mostly fallen, and many surprise rocks and roots were hidden under them.

The trail surface was slightly damp and bumpy here…

It intersects a few portage trails. Stopped to hike down some of them for the lake views.

Looked like some of the more remote sections were being used by moose.

This old ski hut along the way has a wood stove inside.
