Spring Training in Portugal!
Just like last year this will target ‘Saturday Group 1’ riders. Expect to ride between 3 and 6 hours daily, with recovery days and time to be go sight-seeing off the bike.
Dates: Targeting April 15-25
Current Flight (As of Oct 7 2024) - $671 via Air Canada Direct (YYZ ↔ LIS)
Air Canada Bike Fee: $50 per direction
Weather - ~16-26C, typically sunny. Summer kit weather, and maybe a vest/arm warmers if we leave early for a ride.
There are 3 separate rooms available (Queen, Queen, Twin) at the house first-come-first serve.
???How much will this cost???
1. Flight + Bike Fee
- (671 + 100) Everyone packed their kit and clothes, nutrition etc in their bike bag.
2. Food/Cafes/Car Rental (Based on 2024 this is how things played out for the 10 days) - $550 per person
3. Room - $100
Your Trip Estimate: $1420 CDN
To give context about the Food/Car Rental. We rented 2 cars and a Cube van for the bikes last year. We ate at restaurants multiple times, had café stops, and cooked at the house a few times. To keep track of everything we simply kept all receipts and tracked who was present and who paid. This way if someone didn’t want to join for dinner or passed on a café stop it was not added to their portion of the expenses. I think this worked quite well and all expenses were transparent on a spreadsheet.
This trip is later this year in the hopes that when we return it will be straight into riding outdoors and not back inside on the trainer.
