Help support the backend of the WCC forum

Hi folks,

So the team that maintains the WCC forum infrastructure (not the content but the server itself) is pretty small and I’m looking to expand the team so we have more redundancy. The group that currently maintains it has shrunk a little so hopefully we can add a few more (I would like to have at least 6 people if possible).

The backend runs as a Linux VM in Digital Ocean and there are some Python scripts that connect to the CCN (the bit which members join) and Discourse (which is the forum software) APIs to sync them together. Mostly we are talking about making sure all this is working, fixing it when it breaks and running the occasion update. Not too much heavy lifting

If you have skills in this area and would like to help, please either reply here or direct message (DM) me.

Thanks

Oliver

Just giving this a bit of a bump. I have 3 people (including me!) but ideally I would like 3 more.

To re-iterate this is more about creating a brain trust of talent and providing redundancy. You will NOT be left on your own to work out it. I’m going to sort out a review and update to the documentation so it should be very clear what needs to be done.

If you feel like the forum adds value to you and have some skills in this area (and mine are not great  ) please get in touch and help out. The forum can’t work without your help!

Hey Oliver,

Just saw this- And I would love to help in whatever way I can.
