Christie Pits Cross - O-Cup #4 Oct 27, 2024

Where are we seeing the registration list, im still not seeing it on zone4?

Ccn. Go to the reg page and you can search participants. Then just filter by category to see who you’re up against.

Just so everyone know, I’m bringing the team tent. We’ll bring the tent sides and some propane heaters to keep things comfortable if you’re relaxing.

Have a great time everyone… I’ve unfortunately had to bow out of officiating this week (GI issues – can’t be too far from a commode for that long :open_mouth:  ) Hopefully it’s all cleared up for Baseball Cross next weekend!!

Cheers!!

Since this is a CX post…any thoughts on tire choice for tomorrow?

For those that have raced the course in Toronto is it mostly grass or hardpack? Looks like predominately grass to me. No rain in forecast over night but a chance of some light rain today. High single digits in the morning. I’m guessing the early races (before ~10am) will be a bit slick due to frost and left over moisture.
For the 11am race and later I would think mostly dry.

I’m thinking all-around tires over file tires. My baby-limus set had a puncture that I haven’t replaced, so I’m thinking baby-limus front and my schwalbe x-one all round for the rear (since that is what I have on). No muds for tomorrow.

Anyone else have opinions?

I haven’t been but I’d expect with the volume of riders we should be using mixed, there will be off cambers and the numbers in the first race plus today’s running race should create some wear lines.

I’ll be on a mud tire as my choice is file tread or that.

It’s mostly grass and is hard packed. I’ll be on my Schwalbe x-one all rounds. As Rob said, there are some off cambers and they could be a little slick in the morning or as the course wears in. Might be nice to have the traction climbing too since the banks around the edge of the park can be steep.

Parking - I’m likely going to pay for parking on Christie St which boarders the east side of the park. It’s super convenient and worth the cost in my opinion.

Nice. That sounds like a consensus (running mediums). Thankfully that is already what is on my bike now.
I’ll also likely be paying for parking and will look into Christie St. Maybe arrive slightly earlier then usual just in case the lots are full.

Going for my opener ride shortly mostly since my boys have a long training ride and I can follow for an hour
