Just realized all my TT stuff is packed for my move, so I’m going to bail on this and do the rec ride instead. Sorry.

I’d like to try and get out - but might not make the start line till 640 or so - would that be an issue? (never did a road tt before so probably guess around 23ish pace)

I made a few fit tweaks…I’ll either go super fast or super slow

Hoping sub 19 will be possible but we’ll see. (My legs are still sore from squats two days ago)

That’s a wrap for another Time Trial season at WCC. We had an absolutely stunning evening for a TT… the weather was perfect with a very light South wind … which helped a little on the way out, and made the home leg harder. If you maintained an aero position and stayed still on the bike it wasn’t that bad. Like all TT’s – it hurt a lot… but you were rewarded with a PB because of the conditions. I personally set a PB by 30 seconds… and many of the other’s set PB’s as well. It was a great evening of suffering.

Official results here:

Young Mr. McLean with a blazing fast ride … he sure is something to watch!!

we had a great season of TT’s … the weather was mostly cooperative (or we changed the date to accommodate). The new TT route is a challenging course, that doesn’t allow you to rest. If the wind is from the East (which happened a number of times this year) it becomes an epic struggle on the return leg… but it would have been a extra fast way out – so it evened out. The traffic has increased on this road in the last couple months, but it’s still very reasonable and I personally think the drivers a more courteous out there then on Crowsfoot… but that could just be me.

It’s been a pleasure timing for all you Time Trialists. I look forward to another season next year. I hope many of you return and hope to see many new faces as well. It’s a great way to capture your fitness trend… for myself I increased my fitness by about a minute over the year. I had hoped this would be the case, as I was coming back from numerous injuries, but these numbers are the proof. Now to continue the weight loss so I can progress the speed… there are two quick ways to increase FTP… build strength, or lose weight. If you are basically at your max strength, then losing weight is the way to go… and as I’m an overweight ol’ codger, that’s what I have to do.

Keep up the steady improvements everyone and let’s meet again at the TT’s next spring. (Or come out to the Velodrome and ride with us this winter.)

Thanks Kevin!
Beauty night for my first road TT - felt I did well with my pacing - but definitely need to work on position - hard to keep down aero for that long!.

Thanks @Bopper & @ChrisP for organizing!

Glad I was finally able to make it out to a TT before the season ended, but now have a sudden desire to n+1 with something a little quicker…
