Just in case some missed it, here’s Rob Samide’s obituary. Rob passed away suddenly back in early July. He was a longtime member of WCC, until he moved to London a few years back. Rob was the guy with the big personality and voice - always talking on a group ride. RIP Rob.
It is with heavy hearts that the children of Robert Samide announce his sudden and unexpected passing in early July 2024, at the age of 57. Partner to Shantel; loving father to Nicole (Will), Jessica (Dan), and Chris; and a cherished Opa to Joshua. He is predeceased by his father, Roman; and survived by his loving mother, Bertha. He was also a dear brother to Debbie and Dorothy (Robert). With deep roots in Waterloo, Robert was a founding member of the Waterloo Cycling Club. He loved cycling across Europe, through the beautiful landscapes of Switzerland, Spain, and Italy. He was a dedicated employee of Agfa Inc., where he spent most of his career. Robert was happiest in nature, listening to the tranquillity and stillness around him. He loved kayaking the shores at sunset. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
