The plan I had heard was that the bridge would be open to bikes and pedestrians during the construction. I guess the plan changed. 
It is good that the bridge is being rehabilitated. It is unfortunately that the detour is Line 86. This will wipe out many Rec Gravel routes on the east side. Too bad the region couldn’t have helped fund the restoration of Peel street bridge or a bridge over the grand for G2G before the work on the covered bridge.
