Info for someone new to the city who wants to try a ride?

Someone new to the city asked me a couple of questions about WCC and whether or not they can try one of the morning rides:

  1. I probably should redirect them to info@waterloocyclingclub.ca?
  2. (Also for my reference) they should be able to join a ride if they have OC membership, right?
  3. (Also for my reference) is there a single day club&oc pass for these situations?

Cheers!

Yes, if the person is a member of another Ontario Cycling club they can ride with us as a “guest” but only a few times before they should technically buy a club membership.

Day passes are available, below is the blurb from the OC site here.

The OC Club Day Pass is a great way for a non-OC member to first try-out a club to see if they want to join for the season. Club Day Passes ($20 for adults, $15 for youth) are available to participate in any club’s recreational activities (subject to their approval) and can be purchased right up until the activity starts.

The OC Club Day Pass is a risk free option for those who aren’t sure about joining a club for the season. If you enjoy your experience, and want to join for the remainder of the season, you can apply the cost of your OC Club Day Pass towards an annual membership for that season.

Contact the OC office for more details.

Hope this helps.
