I have just started to handcycle due to a health issue that severely restricts my endurance on a bicycle.
I have not had much luck getting more in depth information about training/stretching etc to do with hand cycling. I am aware of Reddit’s r/handcycling and handcycle.ca but haven’t had much luck finding more detailed online resources.
Most of the routes and activities in the club are geared towards bicyclists but I wonder if there are other handcyclists in the club. I have yet to see another handcyclist on the road during my (granted short) rides so I am not holding my breath.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi, I am a handcyclist with wcc although I don’t do group rides, just the odd TT. I’d be happy to talk my experience, send me a message and let’s get in touch. -Roger

Yes, please get in touch with Roger, he is an excellent resource. A very capable and strong hand cyclist…and if you’re really serious about getting more info. Come out tomorrow to the Ontario Summer Games course at Kressler and Erbsville Roads and talk to the Para cycling coaches. I’m sure they’d be happy to discuss your journey.
All the best in your new normal

We have had several hand cyclists (Like Roger above) out to our TT series over the years. They are an amazing resource and are very impressive on course!
I’m not sure what Ontario paracycling resources exist but that might be a good option to investigate as well.
Good luck!
